The Department of Urdu was established in the year 1991. The Department of Urdu of Union Education Society’s, Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Solapur consists of 2 Full time teachers, but in June 2021 one teacher was retired. As per the rule of Govt. we have appointed  2 CHB teachers. Now Urdu Department consists of the 1 Full time & 2 CHB teachers.

       The Department offers B.A. in Urdu and certificate course like “Calligraphy Course (Urdu)” to the students & in addition to  “Bridge Course & Remedial Course” for the students of B.A. I. The Department runs an Add-on Course on “Urdu Journalism”  Prescribed by “P. A. H. Solapur University, Solapur.”

       The Department of Urdu has a Projector with Broadband facility. In our college library there are sufficient Text Books and Reference Books which consist of Classical, Modern  & Religious Literature. The Department conducts various guest lectures of eminent scholars to update the knowledge of student and teachers. It conducts programmes such as Ghazal Khawni, Handwriting Competition, Class Seminars, Webinars. Loud Reading Competition, Surprise test & Quiz Competition etc…
